Can I use a pool in labour if my waters break?

Just that really!

My waters broke with DC1, and as she was full term breech I had a CS. Before I went in for the surgery I was advised to shower at home rather than have a bath.

Now 37 weeks with DC2 and really hoping to use the pool for labour, but just wondering what happens if my waters break 1st again.

Any ideas? Thanks Smile

Yes of course you can! How would anyone have a water birth if you couldn't be in the pool after your waters break??

yep i was induced, they broke my watets to start my labour and in each labour i was in the bath and ds4 eas born in the pool.

i think.if your waters break and labour diesnt start they recomend not to get in the bath/pool until labour is rstablished? once it is you are good to go.

If waters break but labour doesn't start/progress after that then having been in the pool/bath can increase the risk of infection. But as far as I know that's the only thing you'd need to be cautious of.
