Just wondering.

Doula said I was the only one she'd known.

Yes I did. I was high and posterior the day before dd was born, softer and more anterior on the day. When I felt decent contractions I had a good rummage just to make sure it didn't stop again!
Its my body, I can do what I like, and since it's considered fine to have sex before the waters break, and since I hope my hands are at least as clean as my husbands willy I don't see a problem!

My mum did with all of us to make sure she went to hospital at the right time. She was a midwife though.

I'm only 23w so can still reach quite easily, but wondering what position you've all found best to reach around a big bump?

kiwigirl42 · 31/10/2012 18:05

hell no. somethings other people are paid to do for me and this in definitely one of them.

I gave myself a sweep with DD2. (I have long, monkey like arms Grin)
It worked!

Stumbleine · 02/11/2012 11:28

I did with dc number three (born four days ago). I was spot on I think too! Am a midwife though so familiar with what I should be feeling.

It's sad that so many women feel that their own bodies are alien territory.

Tried, couldn't reach. But then I can't reach to use non-applicator tampons even without a huge bump in the way. According to my coil fitter I have an incredibly long vagina...

I think I only had two exams with ds and one with dd, which I thought was a useful amount of info for the staff.

Bamboo, with my first, I was refused pain relief on the basis of cm dilated rather than amount of pain. I therefore vowed that I would never be put in that position again, and refuse all internals whilst screaming out my lungs if that is what it took.

I did my own to make sure i wasn't calling my colleague too early?.

StarlightMcKenzie · 02/11/2012 20:36

No, because I was too scared I'd somehow do something to the baby Hmm but I did before I was pregnant, because I was getting to know my cycle. I don't see anything weird about that.
