Hi,

I'm hoping for a VBAC over the next couple of weeks but if it doesn't happen I'd be interested to know how easy it was for those of you who have had a section and then had to go home to look after a small toddler (mine is about 22 months). I can't imagine how someone could lift a toddler into their cot, highchair etc. but it is necessary and you can't have someone with you all the time.

IIRC, I used a booster seat at the dining table (got a cheap one from ToysRus), with one of those little toilet steps so ds1 (24 months) climbed up himself. We put him in a bed before ds2's arrival, but if he were still in the cot, it had a drop down side and I'd have used the step again.

Mine was 2 and a bit when dd2 was born.... dd1 has special needs and so was not walking etc. She was sleeping in a bed though and so she would pull herself up and hold onto the side of bed and I could kneel on the floor and just flick her into bed iyswim. As to changing etc - she was changed on the floor, she ate on a rug in the loungeroom during the day and then at night dh would do all the lifting into bed, bathing etc. I was lifting her probably about 2 weeks post c-section. Not carrying her until about 3 weeks post c-section. That carrying was mainly to the car or something like that - any extended carrying and dh did that too.

Cheers. Sounds like it could be tough. Good improvising ideas.

Cross fingers this one's coming out the old fashioned way Grin
