Increasingly tender area 4 weeks after c-section - is this normal?

I had a c-section four weeks ago tomorrow. At first it was fine, and a week later I stopped the painkillers as they were making me feel like doing more than I ought.

However, this last week or so I have been feeling increasingly tender just above the scar (lower stomach), rather like I have pulled something. Is this a sign I have been overdoing things or a sign of everything knitting back together....? I am wondering if it is the former due to all the shuffling about on the bed I've been doing during the night feeds, but any other views or experiences are very welcome!

Thanks QT. I'm not sure if it started from when I could have been overdoing it or not to be honest. I guess I noticed it more the day I cleaned the lounge (with two cats and a dog you can imagine...) but I have been pretty careful, and also pain free generally up until now.
Re feeding at night, I find myself moving along the bed to rest on the headboard and that seems to pull a bit. Weirdly though it doesn't feel like I thought it would, the tenderness, it's more like I've been wearing too tight trousers which nipped and then got a stitch. Sort of anyway (hard to explain, and even harder when semi sleep deprived!)

Yes, I think that it sounds like you might have overdone it. 4 weeks is still very early days - you shouldn't really be cleaning the house I know it's hard to ignore, but by overdoing things now you'll make your recovery take longer.

My GP said that things should be getting better by the golden 6-week mark, but that it actually takes 10-12 weeks for your abs to properly knit together again.

However, as you feel tender, it is important to keep your peepers peeled for other signs of infection: elevated temperature/fever/flu-like aches an pains, increased or foul smelling lochia/discharge.

Relax, take things a bit easier and be kind to yourself. You've only recently given birth and had major surgery.
