I'm sure my MW will advise but only 6 wks gone so thought good ole MN will know!

My DD was an emergency Csection under GA Sad my DS was also emergency but under LA; however he was wedged and had to be yanked out by forceps which meant my insides were bruised and battered for ages, swelling ( they said it would be internal bruising) didn't go down for 4 months....it was hideous, so after that lovely fairytale(!) would they automatically book me in for a 3rd Csection, or shall I try for a natural?

I bonded with the two of them instantly so I'm not worried about that side of things it's just the physical.....anyone else been in the same boat?

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

I don't have any direct experience of this, but I do know of a fantastic book that discusses the merits and demerits of repeat CS/VBAC. It's by Leigh East and called Cesarean Birth: a positive approach to preparation and recovery

There are risks associated with repeat CS and VBAC. If you want more children after this baby, then you should probably go for VBAC as the associated risks with CS increase each time you have one.

That said, there is a risk of uterine rupture along the CS scarline with VBAC. Its small, but life-threatening to mother and baby if it happens.

If it were me, I'd go with an ELCS. I have two daughters: DD1 born vaginally (long labour, episiotomy, ventouse) and one born by ELCS. The ELCS 'won' hands-down as the best birth experience. As it's planned, it's likey t be a better experience for you with a better/improved recovery over EMCS. Regardless, you need to go into this with your eyes wide open.

Good luck! X

I have had 2 csections. Both emergency although not as bad as your 2nd. Now pregnant with a 3rd and consultant has recommended a csection.(actually no told me I will having a section)
Think its probably for the best though.
