I have heard about 2nd babies being born quicker i assume this is if you have had a vaginal birth? Will shortly be trying to have a baby, (1st born by section no contractions) but hope to have a vbac. Am i right in thinking although all labours different that it could still be 12 hours+?

If it's your first labour, it will be like a first labour, I'm afraid.

I wasnt sure if ds pushing previosuly had toned my cervix, or if carrying him at all will have helped.

I'm told it doesn't. Basically, your second pregnancy is like a second pregnancy is like a second up until wherever you got in the whole process with your first. After that, it's like a first. If you see what I mean.

Do you know if i would be able to put on first time courses for the birth or second timers?. I knew that i wouldnt be having a vaginal birth so it didnt matter at the time. Wish i had asked more questions but didnt. sorry for sounding so silly.

I would go on all the courses you can, and I don't think it will matter for any of them that it's your second baby. In the NHS antenatal class I attended, there was only one second-timer there, but that was only because the others presumably didn't see the need second time around (not because they weren't allowed to be there!). In the classes at the hospital, there were 3 out of 7 second timers.
