Really lovely MW appointments!

well, that makes a few lovely MW appointments in a row.

first, 40 week appointment, the usual question about sweeps was phrased thus 'would you like a sweep or are you happy without intervention' and my answer was accepted without question :) this MW is usually great (and attended Leos birth)
then 41 week appt with another lovely MW 'do i want induction or what would i like if i get to that stage?' and booked me an expectant management appointment (which i sincerely hope i don't turn up to, but have a week which is plenty of time) ... and then talked about how she thought attending a home birth was a real privilege... oooh nice and supportive.

they are doing appointments at my house as well!

if i go into labour tonight (and it feels like foetus is swimming downwards) i get the MW i saw today - hooray!

Grin

You still going then? Hope it kicked off soon. You sound very chilled but then I suppose it is easier to be when you aren't being pressured!?

Btw, the send mw that I was fighting a bit with attended my birth and we had a huge chat over tea whilst I was feeding and she was waiting to check me over. I learnt a lot about the climate within which she works and how much she is trying to do to promote HB and low intervention in a population that whilst affluent are suspicious of HB and ML care in general.

Nothing yet. kind of enjoying life with toddler & school run. and a bit scared of labour, (though haven't had a bad one, it still hurts..)

if i lie down long i find baby has engaged further when i stand up!

lots of head -in -minge action :)

yes, no pressure does help. i know i might get different if i actually have to show for that appointment though - am prepared. right, need sleep :)

good MWs make all the difference! it is difficult for them, i'm sure, because most of people ge their knowledge from OBEM and the dAILY mAIL rather than sensible sources...

Just checking in on you Grin

I never had head in minge until I was actively pushing, so guessing it is likely baby has arrived!?

no, nothing, am getting funny looks at the school gate! am doing school run by car and then taking dog long walk afterwards in the hope of getting it moving.

+11. the most pregnant i have ever been with a 90 centile bump. i think 8-9lbs myself though... (quite big for me, but not in the scheme of things)

head is rubbing against cervix. fanny sore. it can do this for weeks though...
definitely the only kind of head-in-minge action i will be experiencing for a bit! Normally i would try sex at this point to induce but it really, really wouldn't be nice...Both DG and my neighbour have offered to tweak my nipples!

i took my wedding rings off weeks ago as i thought this one might be early :)

baby is stacking up mostly anterior though am not arsed with attempting to position it any more. waste of time, it evidently has enough space to break dance in there.

appointment for monitoring and to 'discuss a plan of care' on Monday but i really really hope i don't go to it!

Oh EAP, poor you.

I got past caring about Ds' position in the end. I figured I'd do the position stuff in early labour instead, and I did spend almost two hours at the beginning lying on my front in the bath, and it may have worked because he came out beautifully positioned.

Mine's a week old and I spent the time breastfeeding him into oblivion. He didn't lose any of his birth weight by day 5.

One night after I had switched sides loads to try to fill his tum he actually clamped he mouth shut and refused any more. Grin but he has gone from feeding every 10mins to not feeding for a few hours at a time.

Now I've had a week of practice and I'm not so scared of breaking him etc. And the scary cord has come off, I'm really enjoying him.

Hope you get going soon!

Early labour sounds about the right time as Braxton Hicks seem enough to move it central, proper ones would hopefully do the job in no time. fingers crossed..

Good to hear little Asteroid is feeding like a demon, cord off already, clever baby :)

newborns are so strange! i forget about that bit.

my daughter oddly hasn't and is fascinated with the whole 'how baby will eat your nipples!' thing.
