Oh I remember this part well, contractions reved up and slowed down over a couple of days before it kicked off properly. It this your first? If you're tired and can get some rest while they're a bit weaker then do :)

I had this for a fair few days. Best advice anyone gave me was that things are happening but do get some rest when they die down. You'll need your energy for the active stage. Don't lose hope and sleep when you can (hard I know)!
My latent stage was long, but active labour was very fast. Arrived at hospital & my beautiful baby boy arrived 3 hours later.

Can you take some paracetamol to try ease the pain so you can sleep? I sympathise, I was awake for 48 hours when I had DS, I was exhausted when it came to active labour and kept falling asleep during contractions.

oh and something else i read on here was stuff the overflow on the bath with blu-tack so you can fill it and ease contractions.

Now that they are not as strong or as frequant my advice would be to go bed if you can. You are not in active labour as yet although it sounds like your body is preparing for it. I'd say get the rest while you can.

Hope your labour goes really well xx

Same as everyone else on here. I had this for 4 days before really starting. Rest and sleep when you can even if during the day, paracetamol, baths, comfy clothes etc etc. your little one will come soon, enjoy the quiet Grin

Being active in labour is a bit of a misleading phrase. Active birth is about listening to your body and responding appropriately. If you feel tired then you should definitely rest although try and lie on your left side.

I managed 5 hours sleep with my tens on which I was so grateful for when the pain really ramped up.

Good luck. Hope your baby is here soon.
