Could someone explain exactly what happens with a c-section, before, during, after...

Latest scan says the DC3 is still breech, has been all the way along, now 35 weeks. Have an appointment to discuss options on friday with consultant. Trying to do a little looking into things and would really appreciate some real life anecdotes of sections please :)

Literally from when you walk into the hospital until after the midwife has finished visiting at home... I suffer with extreme anxiety and really NEED to know everything about what might happen to calm down so to speak Blush

TIA Smile

The catheter is the very least of your concerns believe me! You won't feel it go in or come out and to be honest, after lying on a plastic sheet post section in 30 degree heat (ds came on hottest day of the year) for a day I would have happily removed it myself if the midwife hadnt! Grin

Agree, don't worry about the catheter. I'm having ELCS next time, which is why I'm reading this thread, but I ended up with one last time as I had an epidural. (That was the main thing I was concerned about having an epidural, not the huge needle!) Didn't feel it going in, coming out it was like a small popping sensation but that was it, not uncomfortable at all, just a bit odd. I wonder whether I felt more because I was very swollen down there (2+ hrs 2nd stage then forceps and bad tear, hence the ELCS next time!). But I'm guessing after having your insides rummaged around in it won't be that weird...

im not worried about it - i just dont understand how it works - does it go all the way to the bladder?
