Hypothetically speaking...if you were having pains but due to have a section...

At what point would you ring the hospital?

Due to have a section on Fri but have been having niggles for a few days now. Nothing regular but enough to get me on my ball...

I'm not worried and am definitely not in established labour but would the hospital be interested to know what's going on?

I'd rather avoid a trip out at night for an internal then being sent home IYSWIM.

Any advice gratefully received Smile

I think it depends on the reason for the section, really.

If it's imperative that you do not go through labour then, yes, they might need to know that things might be starting in order to section you sooner.

Otherwise, if you were not scheduled for a section, would you be calling the hospital at this point?

I would generally tend to err on the side of caution and give them a ring to let them know so you can get proper, professional advice.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.

No, if I wasn't having a section I wouldn't be phoning and my section isn't an urgent medical need - I had an emcs and pph last time.

I'm just don't want to waste anyone's time (or get my mother out of bed to watch DS!)
