Anyone been physically 'damaged' (tears? incontinence?) by manual removal of placenta?

I am pg with baby no 2 and have had stress incontinence more or less since my bfp. I told midwife at booking in and she has arranged for me to have physio abut she also wants me to be checked by an obstetrician to check that I wasn't damaged or torn in any way during the surgery (which was immediately post birth). I am going to be pretty miffed if I was as despite me asking for a check up, down there was never ever checked post surgery despite stitches etc. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

I had surgery to remove placenta, and remember them listing tearing and possible damage to womb as a risk, before they did it. I was lucky and didn't tear, but have had very mild stress incontinence ever since. To be honest never thought this was anything to do with surgery, just assumed it was a normal post delivery thing. I also never had any check ups after surgery.

Good luck with this pregnancy - I was worried about the placenta thing 2nd time round, but had not problems at all this time.

Thanks goosey. Obs appt not until end of July so will find out then.

Has made me even more determined to have epidural as I would have been furious last time if I'd not had one only to have to have one for the placenta op.
