PPH and now possible retained tissue!

So my beautiful baby girl is now 11 days old but I'm still bleeding and today they have told me I have some retained tissue!

She was speedily born via forceps after which I suffered a 700-1000ml PPH. Discharged two days later but things have been quite tender. Now back in hospital after passing a few large clots.

Has this happened to anyone? I have no idea of the proceedure in a case like this. Have been googling and have only served to scare myself!

Would be very thankful of any advice!

I passed some frighteningly large clots too, but not sure about bleeding....i now know after scan with new one - v early date scan that i have a biconurate uterus - i read this can mean retained placenta etc. sorry to not be much help.
however i would be relived if i was back in hosp where they could monitor me etc..

I had a wee PPh (only about 500mls), and was passing huge clots (well, golf ball sized). Got sent in for an ultrasound, they said there was a few bits left, but that they would pass by themselves. I was on ABs for a month to prevent infection and that was it.

It is very common to continue bleeding (lochia) for weeks after the birth isn't it?

I really wouldn't worry too much :-)
