Im looking for some advice on having a vbac after 2 c sections. After 2 c sections i would love a normal birth with my 3rd baby (when i fall) but not sure if it a good idea. Can anyone give me any advice.

I am expecting my 3rd after 2 csections. I have been wondering the same. Not had consultant's appointment but believe I will be advised to have another csection. Even states this on my notes that a csection is better if you have had 2 csections.

Iv heard that it ment to be safer but also of a lady who had a normal birth after 5 c sections

Look at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (RCOG) green top guidelunes.

They state there is not an increased risk of scar rupture after 2 cs.

Chances of success depend on why you had the first 2.

And check what your hospital guidelines say.

My consultant was happy to let me try a vbac after 2 sections (1 emergency, 1 elective with complications). I thought a lot about it, but the decision was taken out of my hands when ds2 was breach, and I had a blissfully uneventful elective - third time lucky. I wouldn't say it was necessarily safer - it depends on how your consultant and how you personally interpret the stats. And you have to really want it I think. I've always been very on edge about uterine rupture, which is why I chose an elective second time - it was pretty awful, so I considered vbac third time. I honestly still have no idea what I'd have done if he'd been the right way up!

I tried for a VBAC last time but got to about 8-9 cms before having a section due to failure to progress. Baby's head wasn't really coming down.
his makes me think that a csection is probably for the best as I am quite short but have quite big babies.

Did u have an epidural with no 3?
I am quite short with a narrowish pelvis so really interested in what you have to say.
Thanks for posting. I am keen to try a vbac after 2 sections. My 1st was 8lb and the 2nd 9lb. I dilated to 7cm both times but contractions were not very strong and I was told my only option was a c-section due to failure to progress. (Now I know it wasn't). They just did not want to take any risks incase it got unpleasant. My previous 2 did not engage in the pelvis at 7cm dilated. I now know that babies can engage at the very last minute. So again, another incomplete truth that I was told in the labour room. I am now 30wks preggers with no 3 and trying to get my vbac. They'll be seeing me again in 4 weeks but already say that its not going to be a small baby this time. I want to refuse any kind of intervention until the last minute. I believe that the epidurals I had slowed things down so I am trying to avoid it this time. They don't like my choice and have asked me to think about it some more. I really want a vbac as I plan to have baby no 4.
