Anyone had a 40 week plus baby who had to spend time in SCBU or NICU?

If so did you have any conditions such as placenta previa, problems with placenta not working properly, pre-eclampsia, obstetric cholestasis etc.

Was it a vaginal birth or c section?

40+8, 8lb 1oz DD spent 1 day in NICU and the next 4 days in SCBU because no one spotted that my waters were leaking and she was had a very high infection rate and so needed IV antibiotics for 5 days. Perfectly healthy now, but it was a bit of a shock - I don't think you even consider baby being poorly when you are overdue!

Yep, DS was born by emcs at 40 + 13 after failed induction. He had a collapsed lung and an unidentified infection. Suspected group b strep but couldn't be isolated in his blood sample. He was not distressed at birth (emcs was carried out due to me being only 1cm dilated 29 hours after waters went) but was grunting about an hour after birth and subsequently whisked away to nicu then scbu for a total of a week. Apparently I tested positive for group b strep during pregnancy but no-one told me and I wasn't given intravenous ABS during labour, grr. Luckily no after effects, he's a very healthy 4yo now :-)
