If you knew you were having an ELCS, how did you spend your last day and evening? Do you wish you'd done something different?

Bored in hospital. :o The day before that my husband brought in a takeaway. That was nice.

ajmama · 14/04/2012 20:05

I got a manicure, pedicure and my eyebrows threaded and had a takeaway in the evening.

HybridTheory · 14/04/2012 20:42

I had a meal out (late aftenoon) and then had a lovely bath in the evening.

Took DS to nursery. Wandered to town on my own, spent loads in Boots and the supermarket.

Had a quiet afternoon and finished my packing.

Sorted out the furniture for the baby's room (day) and lovely meal out with DH, my mum and dad (eve).

Care over mani/pedi as you're not allowed to wear nail varnish for the operation.

ajmama · 14/04/2012 22:42

I wore nail varnish, it was no problem. The stockings covered my toes and I had a french manicure on my fingers
.

I don't remember the night before, but I do remember walking to the hospital on the morning of hospital in glorious sunshine. It felt slightly surreal, dragging my little suitcase behind us, we were more looking like we were about to catch a flight to go on holiday than going to have a baby.

Take away, bath and fanjo wax Grin nothing worse than a dry hospital shave!

katiegolightly · 15/04/2012 10:27

Lol yes I think the plan will def involve 'maintenance' and pampering of some sort. Would it be rude to have a sneaky glass of champagne with a huge tub of cookies & cream? (In blissful quiet whilst ensuring DP gives the mother of all foot massages)...

Can I wear clear polish? It's just so they can see the colour, no?

Have a french or american mani, that is pretty clear. Hospital policies may differ though so check, I had red toes and french mani for both of my electives. Both were at the Portland.

WidowWadman · 15/04/2012 12:56

katie - as long as you have the champagne before 10 PM you should be fine

katiegolightly · 17/04/2012 23:48

It'll be a celebratory champagne instead! Waters broke a few days earlier than ELCS so Emma arrived yesterday by very calm EMCS Smile
