Just that really. I'm so excited and needed to share!

40+5 with DC1. Baby's been teasing for three or four weeks now, labour signs starting up then disappearing again for days. It felt like it was never going to happen.

Just got back from labour ward, they asked me in so they could confirm spontaneous rupture of membranes - which they have Grin. Trace looks good, contractions were starting to get more noticeable while I was there and they've now sent me home with a cheerful "try and get some sleep, we'll be seeing you soon"

I'm going to meet my baby really soon! Woohoo!

Good luck!

This is exactly like my post from a week ago, I'm now sitting in bed awake after feeding my lovely baby girl .

Good luck, I hope it all runs smoothly.

bushymcbush · 13/04/2012 05:30

Good luck OP! Excited for you.

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 13/04/2012 05:37

Yay hope you got done rest but doubt it Grin

Givememorecheese · 13/04/2012 06:03

Thanks guys and congratulations on your new arrival bobbles

You're right HateBeing I didn't get much rest, but I managed a couple of hours and can honestly say I had the best night's sleep I've had in months the night before, so feel reasonably good.

I'm now wide awake and my body is making a very clear demand for porridge, so I think it might know it'll be needing some decent energy stores later today Grin

You lucky, lucky bugger Envy (40+9)

Hope it goes smoothly and isn't too long a wait for you Grin

Givememorecheese · 13/04/2012 06:50

Awh Flisspaps, hope your little one doesn't keep you waiting too much longer, I can imagine how fed up you must be.

It can't be long now. All the best for when the time comes

How are you doing cheese? I am hoping the lack of update means you've been rather busy having a baby today Grin

Givememorecheese · 16/04/2012 06:41

Yes, Friday and Saturday were rather busy!

Went into labour on Friday afternoon. It wasn't the best, got to a smidge from fully dilated in 18 hours, then failed to progress for the next 6. Ended up with an emergency section as baby was getting distressed, which was frustrating after getting so close.

DS (been waiting ages to say that!) was absolutely worth every minute of it of course. He's healthy and happy and perfect and fast asleep beside me in his crib. I can't take my eyes off him. We'll be going home later today. I can't wait! Grin

How about you Flisspaps? I'm hoping your little one isn't still keeping you waiting.

Congratulations cheese! Enjoy your baby snuggles :)

Flisspaps · 16/04/2012 17:07

cheese no, not waiting! DS was born yesterday morning after a bit of a mammoth labour, in hospital after transferring from home - turns out he was awkwardly positioned and a rather whopping 11lb 7oz with a 40.5cm head.

Ouch!

Back home now Grin

joymaker · 16/04/2012 22:40

Congratulations flissp and well done! Smile

Givememorecheese · 17/04/2012 08:54

Congratulations Fliss and wow, that sounds like hard work!

Hope you and DS had a good first night at home and you are enjoying him as much as I'm enjoying mine :)
