I have developed high BP in my pregnancy alongside protein in my urine, headaches and swelling i.e I have pre-eclampsia on the way. I have over the last couple of weeks been admitted to hospital a few times and then sent home with medication and daily midwife checks. Basically what happens is I am in hosp and bp goes down slightly and they are happy even when the disystolic rate is over 95 then CMW comes alongs sees bp of something over above 95 and sends me to the hospital. When I get there I spend 4/5 hours sitting around being monitored and they take my blood and basically I waste ages get admitted and the whole process starts again. It is not doing our family life any good either as I am a SAHM with few family members who can care for child (i.e grandparents non exsistent and all siblings work) meaning husband is having to come home from work and take me and whilst they hae been fairly decent about it they are now coming to the end of their tether)

This week I had an app to see my consultant I was looking forward to discussing my situation with regards to induction at 37 weeks, but as I was in hospital they said not to bother and to see her registrar as a result I have tonight been sent home yet again and told to see midwife tomorrow and go in on Saturday for monitoring and that they do not want to induce me. (I am now 37 weeks)

I have read the NICE guidelines and they state that it is the best outcome to induce at 37 weeks - and after being in hospital I feel that the reason they are procrastinating is more one of logistics they are very busy and have no staff to cope exp Mon-Fri and for some reason weekends are less so what would you do?

I would speak to one of the senior midwifery staff on the phone and tell them everything in this post. The anxiety that this is causing is relevant.Either midwife in charge of antenatal clinic or person in charge of whole maternity service or Supervisor of Midwives. If you go through hospital switchboard they should be able to find one of them for you.

One of the problems for a person like you is that somethings not right but not immediately dangerous, so its very easy to be noones priority. Add to that, you probably see a different person every time so there is no overview of your case. In these situations its important to advocate for yourself and your baby.
