Back to back baby and VBAC, words of reassurance please!

Am 40 weeks today and baby is back to back. After successfully labouring in water and getting to 10cm dilation with my first on a midwifery led unit, I couldn't push her out (even after trying for 2.5hrs!) because she had a deflexed head and I think was also posterior. I had a long and painful latent labour and ended up with a section in the end. (to be clear, I am fine about that, it was the only way she was going to come out in the end).

I have been very positive up until now and looking forward to a VBAC. I am now disheartened that my baby has turned posterior (she was anterior at 36 weeks) and worried I will have a repeat performance. My back has been very sore the last couple of weeks and despite limping when I walk I am trying very hard to do all of the "right things" (no sitting on the sofa, no putting my feet up, rocking on all fours when possible, bouncing on a ball, staying active).

But today I am feeling really discouraged (and weepy). Must be the hormones...

Any words of encouragement from experienced ladies out there?

Hi, hope you are feeling better today. Just wanted to say that I had an emergency c section with ds1 (got to 10cm but he then got stuck). I then had a successful vbac with ds2 and it was a fantastic experience.
I wish you lots & lots of luck x

Thanks DancingRoundTheKitchen. Only saw your post just now.
Baby girl born last week. It was a vaginal birth but left me wrecked I'm afraid...

DS was b2b, came out eyebrows first (head tipped back), 9lbs, and my first!

Gas and air only, 11 hrs from first contraction to birth.

Cant help on the VBAC part but b2b births needn't be difficult :) HTH.

DS2 was 9lb 10 posterior (not a chance I was lying down during labour) and came out without any pain relief (it was bloody painful but I somehow forgot to ask & they didn't offer Confused in under 6 hours with out sustaining a single cut or tear. Not sure what it says about my lady bits but HTH Grin
