So I'm just back from a presentation scan, and whilst baby is not breech, he is back to back.

I'll be honest - this scares me more than breech. I've been told to rock on all fours, but were wondering if any other wise MNers had any tips of what helped them?

Swimming? Ball bouncing? Chocolate eating?

I'm quite anxious about this all, as my pain threshold is shocking to say the least!

My DD was back to back. Laboured upright and on all fours and she was born at home with no pain relief - it isn't necessarily the disaster people will have you believe.

Just coming on to ask about this. No more lying out on the sofa when I have had enough of toddler wrangling.

I am 38+3 and baby changed position yesterday from being LOP whilst out on a walk with DD. it is really painful at the moment, like a square peg is being forced into a round hole. The back pain and trapped nerves last night were awful.

I am a religious left side sleeper anyway, so hoping that s/he will turn back around soon.

I managed to get my baby to turn from b2b a few days ago. I'm 36+2. I had been trying some of the tips for turning them but it wasn't until I totally eliminated lying / sitting back on armchairs or the sofa that it made any difference. Now it's all side lying and leaning a little on my tummy so the front is definitely the lowest part of me. Now that baby is OA (more or less) I am taking turns on my left / right sides at night but mostly left. I also sit on my birth ball a bit. At the moment I'm lying on my left side on the sofa. I'm so tired today!

If anyone reads this thread in future I just want to say, don't follow my suggestions. I've just found out that although I did manage to turn my b2b baby, he/she is now breach! What I thought was the bum is actually the head. My baby has been head down since very early on. I'm in shock that it's head up now that I'm reaching 37 weeks. There's still time for it to move but c-section is looking more likely for me now. I wouldn't mind, I just turned down an ELCS this week. It was offered due to a prolapse issue.

DS was back to back. He was my first so nothing to compare it to, but I had a manageable labour though did opt to use pethidine as I was tired and not coping well with having lost a night's sleep. He was born with ventouse as he got a bit distressed but I don't think it was due to his position, as far as I understand it. I felt most of my labour pains in my back, but it wasn't too bad really, and certainly hasn't put me off having another one as I'm currently 32 weeks!
