I'm 38 + 2 and for the past few days have been experiencing the most tremendous wind! As in, if I don't parp as soon as I need to then My bottom will tear apart. My DH has sadly had to learn to live with it but I'm now in hospital likely to be induced because of bp, and I fear for the breathing ability of the other lady in my room. Sadly they aren't all pomp and ceremony either - the other night I forgot to open a window and the smell was so bad I woke up with a sore throat that lasted for hours.

Any cures? Is this normal? Does it mean labour might be imminent? Will I make my hubby's eyes melt? My diet hasn't changed at all and is quite bland - certainly isn't the diet of sprouts, egg and cheese that passers by might be forgiven for assuming.

You have a bowling ball in your lower abdomin, what do you think? Ask the midwives if it's upsetting you that much or try charcol tablets

Ah, Gabeesh!
It is half three in the morning, and I have terrible pregnancy insomnia...but it is worth being up to read that! Grin
You have really made me laugh. But unfortunately I have no advice. Won't be long now....

Ha, that really made me laff. i don't think your dh's eye will melt, who knows.

It does remind me of a similar situation that a guy at work told me about. His wife had gone over due so had eaten a huge hot curry to try and get things going, low and behold she went into labour (not too sure how long after the curry), and her farts were out of this world bad. She was in hospital lying on a bed and let rip pretty badly, they both chuckled but she was embaressed too. Anyway a nano second later in comes a consultant (or some such) and my work colleague said 'sorry I just farted' to cover up for his wife and then he just wanted to die of embaressment! I really laughed when he told me, anyone can excuse a pregnant lady who farts with no control but I think everyone would frown upon a husband who stank the whole labour ward out!!

It goes away pretty much immediately after birth, as the baby takes over producing the wind... My new baby can fart for England! But my pg wind has gone.

Baby now 10 days old.
