Anyone had more than three CS?

I've had 3 elective CS. First for low lying placenta, then unstable lie with DS2 (had been planing a VBAC) and DS3 was transverse lie. Would love a fourth child.

Second and third sections were not easy I think, lots of adhesions, bladder stuck to uterus etc......... and I am now 41....

anyone else done this ?

just had my fourth 6 weeks ago and to be honest it was the best of the bunch - operated on by consultant who took his time and did a really good job
did get my gp to refer me thuogh before even got pg to discuss risks with O+G consultant who wrote me a very good letter outlining the risks but said basically as Id had uncomplicated ones previously my risks wereent up that much. Im pleased I did this though as if hed said dont have another i would have listened and then was helpful when mws acted like I was massively irresponsible for being pg again to say that id been for this appt
im 36 btw. good luck - my baby is gorgeous and well worth it........

only other thing to add is I didnt get pg as quickly as prev and then had two early mcs which was assured wereent due to prev sections. from my original appt in dec2003 to discuss risks I finally had baby in dec2005
dh and I are actually foolhardy enough to consider a 5th!

Hi Lemonstartree, I had 3 and then had a home water birth but I do know of several women who have had 4 or more. Adhesions are a risk (as is placenta previa) BUT after my 3rd caesarean the consultant said he'd separated a lot of the adhesions and that if I really wanted another baby he'd support another caesarean. You could try the NCT special experiences register.

I know somwone who's had four and has had a meeting with a consultant who's given her the all clear to try a fifth if she wants.

what are adhesions? are they common/serious in subsequent c-sections?

RedZuleika · 17/02/2006 20:31

I have nothing to add on the thread personally, but I do remember there was someone on here called Zipper who'd had five, I thought.

Did a search and found this old thread .

Hello

I've had one c-sec (due to small pelvis) and am planning on having 3 or 5 children altogether so am interested in this thread!

I know of someone who is about to have their 4th (all children fairly close together too - oldest is 5 or 6) and I recently read in a baby magazine that at least one woman in the uk is known to have had 8 yes 8! caesareans! They said there is no actual limit but as you said the risks are higher each time with the healing etc...

Does anyone know what happened to Zipper? Her last post is to say she is 13wks pregnant with number 7 - which would be due this March.
