Hey 36+2 with dc1.

Is it possible for your waters to go without having a show before hand?

The TMI bit
Underwear was damp when I got up and smelled abit sweet, not like urine. Going to have a wash and pop a pad on incase. At what point do you phone some one ie a mw.

Thanx for any replies.

yes, it is.

quite possible your dampness is just increased discharge, but keep an eye on it and if you get any more then call the midwife

Yes. DC1 was 'leaky" when I woke. Felt slippery, not like thick discharge. Waters started to escape a bit, and went gush by lunchtime. I phoned in and the told me not to come in until evening unless contractions were regular, and in fact it took hours and hours for contractions to get going. I never saw a show at any point.

It is - you have forewaters & hindwaters. Forewaters can leak a bit but labour will not necessarily follow. I believe they can actually reseal but not 100% sure. I was induced 3 days after this scenario occured with DC1.

My hindwaters went naturally when labouring with DC2 and it was like Niagra Falls.
