How long until you stop feeling...

ds born by vbac just over a month ago and I still feel really loose and floppy, and make funny noises when I have no knickers on that are like fanny farts.
The feeling of this is annoying me no end and I was wondering if anybody else has had this and how long did it take to return to normal.

I did not have it like you have but you really need to do the kegels all the time as often aas you can even if you cannot feel it at first you will be helping the problem I did it constantly was obsessed with them and it worked after a few weeks, or please go to the doctor and get help.

can take a while to recover after the first vaginal birth, was over 6 weeks with dd before everything felt remotely near normal. second time around, it was much quicker with ds. swelling was gone within 2 weeks that time. if its bothering you, mention it at your 6 week check.

also forgot to mention, it can be worse to recover from if you had a rapid delivery as its more of a shock to the body, has less time to stretch.

hth!.

oooo. Nature is very unkind isn't it!

I'm not sure if it was better second time around or not. Probably was given previous stretch but OTOH, it's less of a shock to experience second time around.

Lots of pelvic floor exercises should help but definitely see your doctor if you are worried that you are unreasonably loose.

Took a couple of weeks to feel less loose, a couple of years to become accustomed to not being quite the same as I was previously...then I had another

dd2 was born by vbac in November and I was just thinking this week that I feel enitrely back to normal in every way
keep doing your exercises.... religiously

My doc told me give it 6 months until you feel normal. I felt very gaping for a while! Agree about the exercises, think they make a big difference plus you can feel yourself getting "stronger" which psychologically makes a difference.

I found I was worse after my first baby - but probably because I hadn't been doing any pelvic floor exercises at all(I ended up hardly having any bladder control either ). I had to learn how to do them first and, as a result, everything took longer to pull back to anywhere near where it should have been. As has already been said though, it might be worth mentioning it to your doctor if you are uncomfortable but in the interim the old pelvic floors are a must!!
