Depspite EBF DS (6months) I got my periods back the minute i finished post-childbirth bleeding. Now whenever I have a period, my scar actually kills me. It is so tender and painfull!
I just wondered if anyone else had the same thing?

I have the same problem with pain from the scar but not the tampon issue (my epi was about 2.5 yrs ago). I've mentioned it to several different medical professionals (GP, practice nurse, consultant, registrar, mw specialising in birth injury) all have been utterly disinterested, dismissive and basically agree it happens and say it's due to scar tissue. If they advise anything it's to massage with oil.

Just another example of things you didn't know about pre-birth which people just expect you to put up and live with post-birth I'm afraid.

I saw the consultant this week.

He took me seriously and thought the pain could be endometriosis in the scar or a trapped nerve. He also said at this point (nearly a year on) if it wasn't yet better, it was unlikely to ever be so.

He's referring me to a specialist who deals in perianal truma to have a look first as I also bleed after bowel movements and he wants to make sure that the pain isn't primarily from there and being referred to episo site.

Once I see her, depending on what she says, I will prob have either an injection or surgery to refashion the scar.

If you are in pain, don't give up or be fobbed off!
