How many weeks do you generally have your ELCS?

With my first child I had an ELCS due to position etc...

I'm planning to opt for a C Section with my second (if offered?) as I also have GD...

Can you have this actually on your due date? Or earlier? I ask this for the purely selfish reason that I would prefer to have it on my due date as I have to RSVP to a save the date I've recieved for DBIL's wedding and that would be at 38+5... (uncomfortable but think they would kill me if I didn't go!)

Any experiences of this?

I think it depends on your area, where i am for a routine ELCS is normally at 39 weeks (so a week before your due date). It may pay to call your hospital/midwife unit where you plan to have baby to ask them what their policy is.

I would RSVP to say you are going to the wedding but be prepared not to go just in case. It's easier for them to fill a couple of spaces than try to squish you onto a table. Obviously explain the situation to DBIL and make a plan to decide say 3 weeks prior one way or the other if you are to go or not.
