Last minute crash course in relaxation techniques?

It has rather belatedly dawned on me that one of the most crucial aspects of giving birth may be remaining mentally in control and knowing how to relax.

My last 2 births were long and fraught inductions - contractions for hours on end with no dilation.

Am due in a couple of weeks. Is it too late to learn any useful relaxation techniques or breathing exercises?

No, I don't think so. I had a little boy 11 days ago and started using a hypnobirthing cd when I started Maternity Leave at 38 weeks. Although I never mastered the taking yourself into deep relaxation/own special place, the breathing really help. Practised every day for the 3weeks til DS arrived - he was 8 days overdue. I managed the whole labour with TENs and breathing only. I did have intervention right at the end but only because my contractions weren't lasting long enough and DS kept shifting position so I couldn't quite push him out. But the whole labour was a very positive experience and I felt very calm throughout. The breathing really helped distract me from any pain & practising the relaxation exercises helped me remember that the labour wouldn't last forever.
There is a very chirpy Aussie lady on YouTube who has some good tips, especially for breathing!
Sorry that's a bit waffle but hope it helps!

Breathing and G&A if you breathe well the G&A is more effective very relaxing
