Dh and I are currently musing over the possibility of a 3rd and final child. I have had 2 (monster) children, the last one in fact ruined my hips (well, hurt them considerably), but that's another matter.

The thing is, I have had 2 sections thus far - the first due to pre-eclampsia, baby distress, baby getting stuck in my pelvis the second elective to first time shenanigans.

I was just wondering if any of you fine ladies have had a section, or indeed a vbac, after 2 sections?

I know it's possible, but would like some scope on it please.

TIA :)

I'm having my third c section in March. Like you, the first was due to PE, the second was because DS2 was breech. The midwives and consultant haven't batted an eyelid about me being pregnant for a third time. My GP just said that I'd be having a c section because I've had two already and that it would make childcare arrangements much easier to plan! The consultant didn't recommended vbac due to the risk of rupture. I'm a little nervous about how long it is going to take me to heal up afterwards as I found it took me longer with DS2 than DS1 but I'll just have to take things as they come.

I've had three. My third was by far the best, despite the fact there was less than a year between DS1 and DS2 which 'recieved wisdom' said was a no-go. It was 'elective' (just means planned, it was medically necessary), rather than emergency and was a completely different experience - had one crash section and one emergency section previously.

I healed up fine, better and faster than the others (though there were a lot of adhesions when they initially went in, which isn't uncommon with previous c-sections, but again if it's a planned section it won't be an issue as they'll have time to sort it out properly). I had staples rather than a stitch but I gather from friends who've had three plus that was unusual.

I got to have a 'natural cesarean' which meant a very slow delivery and they dropped the screens - couldn't see anything gross, went skin to skin right away (with DH holding DS2 steady).

Recovery was the same if not better. I shouldn't think it'll be any worse than your previous ELCS...
