Hi I had a c-section in May 2004., and felt unable to lift things and very week for about 4-5 weeks. I am due again in May 2006, and i may have to have another c_section. My husband will be able to get 2 weeks off work, but how can i look after my sun for the couple of weeks after that, as he is very heavy and i couldn't imagine trying to lift him on my own? Does anybody have any ideas how i can cope?

arnica is a homeopathic remedy that helps reduce bruising. You can get it at boots. Take it from 3 days prior to op until about 2 weeks after.

My dd was 11 days off her 2nd birthday when ds was born in my second section. I came home after 5 days, and tbh was fine to do everything except laugh or cough. I did put dd in a bed beforehand (we needed the cot). I also made sure that post 7pm, when the kids were in bed, I did nothing. you do have to rest at some point.

I used lavender oil in the same sort of way on my wound. Ds was 16mths when dd was born. I have to admit that I kept my nanny on three days a week throughout my maternity leave which was fantastic, but I think that so long as you do things slowly, and utilise things at a good height as much as possible so you don't bend then you will be fine. Second time I did much more much sooner - mainly because I just worried about it all much less. I knew it would be OK, having gone through it before, so I think I trusted my instints better. Getting meals pre cooked and in the deep freeze, and all household tasks out of the way in advance also helps. Plus figure out what may be difficult (getting washing out of the washing machine etc) and plan to have those tasks at times when your dh can do them. Good luck - I'm sure it will be fine!
