Are you having contractions??

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2006 22:34

My labour went on for ages first time, bit quicker second time. But you know what, in all that time i dont remember thinking about whether the baby had moved or not i was busy waiting for the next contraction!

Miaou · 15/01/2006 22:34

Yes, they do. When I was having ds, I delivered his head, and he looked round. Weirdest feeling in my entire life's experience!!!

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 22:37

hey horseshoe good to see you, hope you are doing OK what's happening then??????

expatinscotland · 15/01/2006 22:37

I didn't.

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 22:38

Can't remember Horseshoe and was wondering the same thing myself for this time - are you in labour?!

lucy5 · 15/01/2006 22:39

I can't remember but I didnt consciously monitor it.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2006 22:40

That would have freaked me out Miaou! Was bad enough when delivering the head of DD the midwife said - "she is crowning, put your hand down and feel it" me "Errrrr NO, and i dont want to!" (thankful for epidural at that point). Felt every bit of DS's head when he was born on just gas and air.....and [ouch emoticon]

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 22:41

Think they do with DD they told me she was moving between contractions on the monitor, I was in too much pain to register it.

Miaou · 15/01/2006 22:43

I was in a birthing pool at the time! I just squealed and laughed and shrieked - it was soooo unexpected! I found out afterwards he was a brow presentation and had his hand up on his cheek, so he was probably just trying to make a bit of room for himself! Still makes me laugh even now.

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 22:46

When DD was coming out DP said "oh I can see her head and hair and oh an arm" I was like arm whats that doing there?

horseshoe · 15/01/2006 22:47

I cant work out if these are BH or not as they are fairly strong and regular but baby is moving about vigourously (sp?) and I thought they were supposed to go quiet..

Hi Sweetkitty...still waiting.....I have been around and kept up will all posts but have't posted in ages....decided to finally marry him in March and so have been planning that. How are you?? Anything happening?? Overdue now luvvy!!

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 22:48

Congratulations, Horseshoe!

SK and I having a race atm - both due yesterday!

horseshoe · 15/01/2006 22:49

hunkermunker...hellllooo.....My midwive said lots of sex or fresh pineapple......mmmm guess what I opted for....hence the snoring coming from the next room

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 22:52

LOL! Not sex with a pineapple then?

Exciting, all these babies!

I do remember that DS kept falling asleep between my contractions last time - he was very chilled out though and his heartrate didn't change at all while I was having him! The midwives kept telling me to prod him to wake him up when I was on the monitor before I got into the pool because they needed to see he was active before they'd let me in the pool. He was fine, just very laid-back about being born!

flutterbee · 15/01/2006 22:55

Hiya I honeslty didn't feel ds moving around at all but it may have been because of the gas and air sending me doolally as he had to have a scalp probe put on and he kept wriggling around and pulling it all over the place

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 22:56

hi horseshoe great to hear from you was wondering about you actually, firstly many congratulations on your nuptials

Funny how it's all us how thought we would be early that are hanging on now typical!

Come over and check out the Due in Jan thread theres been loads of babies born recently! Actually Hunker and I are having our babies tomorrow (we've started saying this every day now!)

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 22:57

Yes, it's our mantra Hasn't bloody worked yet though! Just glad I missed the 13th though - avoided 1st April with DS by two days, but looks like this one wants to hang on a bit longer than that!

Like tomorrow's date though 16/1/6 - nice!

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 23:01

I was thinking that too hunker 16/01/06 has a nice ring to it

ShaysMummy · 15/01/2006 23:03

I remember worrying because I swear mine didn't move from the Thursday till he was born on the Sunday morn. All I could think about was the pain! Oh, and the lush gas n air! Great stuff!!

Miaou · 15/01/2006 23:05

HM and SK, we ought to get the Mumsnet vibes onto it.... We'll do lots of ohhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm-ing tomorrow and see if that works!

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 23:06

If you could, Miaou, that'd be fab

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 23:08

Right I'm off to bed to wait on my waters breaking

sweetkitty · 15/01/2006 23:09

I think I would go out and dance naked in the rain during the full moon if it would help.

PrincessPeaHead · 15/01/2006 23:10

my dd slept through my entire labour much to mw's amusement. mind you when she came out she was pretty lazy too, slept 12 hrs a night from 7 weeks.

can't remember about the others - last one was in a birthing pool so don't think I would have noticed really
