Total me me me thread, but my poor OH has heard all this so many times i need somewhere else to moan!

Vomiting all last night, tummy keeps rumbling now but is still objecting to food - feel so wobbly i don't know how i'd cope with labour right now!
Mild back ache but this could be down to me sitting awkwardly to try to reduce the nausea.
No sign of any show/waters breaking.
Really intense Braxton Hicks.
Horrendous heartburn, ranitidine no longer working as it is just making me feel more sick.
Had hyperemesis up to week 24 and with occasional bouts of sickness since then.

Going to be induced on 21st if baby hasn't made an appearance by then. I was really hoping for a homebirth but right now I feel so miserable i don't know how i'll get through it!

Someone give me a slap and tell me to get over myself...!

No slaps, but lots of sympathy. My two were +8 and +9 and it's bloody miserable isn't it. I used to say it was a bit like being told you were running a marathon, but instead of there being a finish line, you'd just get told when to stop. Every step past that 26 miles feels like a marathon in itself.

You are being induced at +9, is that right? I presume you're happy with this, but you do realise that you don't have to agree don't you? With home births in my area they book induction at +15 as standard, because they are very comfortable supporting homebirth up to +14 (you can of course, go past that, but this is their base line 'standard').

Is this no.1 for you?

No slap needed - you poor thing. Pregnancy for some is a breeze and for others, like you and me, it is a shocker! I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so unwell. Is this your first pregnancy?

My advice would be to tuck yourself up in bed, watch some telly, rest-rest-rest and try to eat something that you feel you can keep down. Oh and drink lots of fluids. I had a 48 hour labour with DC1 and was up and about thinking that the baby's arrival was in the next few hours. It never was round the corner so when I finally came to delivery I was exhausted! With DC2, I stayed still, had nice baths, tried to sleep and the delivery was much easier as I had some energy!

Labour will be here soon and the adrenaline will give you some energy too. You will get through it and the days of sickness will seem a distant memory once your baby arrives. Don't focus on how the baby gets out - in the grand scheme of things it is more important that you have your baby safely in your arms. Look after yourself until labour starts.

Big hugs

Thank you both, support and words of wisdom are much appreciated!

It's our first and i suspect our last baby, the whole thing has been so traumatic that i don't think my OH would let me consider doing it again, and i can't imagine feeling up to it physically or emotionally! V frustrating because i know at least 4 others who are pregnant at the same time and not one of them has any complaints, they are truly glowing.

Induction has only been booked as a possibility, consultant was fab and said i don't have to go in if i don't want to, but because of christmas she thought it would be worth having it arranged just in case i reach the end of my tether!

Am taking all your advice and going to rest up today, OH is already putting together a list of "poorly food" and we are going to watch a few films i think. I'm v lucky to have such a great partner, just can't wait for our LO to arrive and be cuddled!

I think the pregnancy gods have quite a twisted sense of humour: having said that I think they go on the basis of giving you a 'good' birth with a 'bad' pregnancy, so it all evens out in the end.
Best of luck with it anyway - you never know you might be in labour. friend of mine thought she had diarrhoea and then popped out her babe: two hours.
Fingers crossed for you!

Feel for you! 40 + 2 here and feeling really rather down too. I am very lucky and apart form a couple of scares early on have had a good pregnancy so I can only imagine how frustrated you must be to be so close yet still suffering.

Hope you have some much deserved progress really soon!

Grohlsgirl · 15/12/2011 11:39

Am hoping that the surge in vomiting and the copious amount of tears are down to some kind of labour hormones?! It will be so worth it in the end, it's just knowing when the end will actually be!

Am right there with you Teacup, we can DO this!

Ps feels so much better having words of support from people, thank you again!

I was up till 4am last night (morning?) with BH every 15 to 10 minutes. Decided to try and get some rest and fell asleep. Was cross when I woke up a couple of hours later after they had all but gone.

Every night for the last week or so the BH arrive, stronger and some times really frequent (4 mins apart the other night) and then settle down again by morning. Tis exhausting getting your hopes up each night isn't it?!

Hey ho.....they can't stay in there forever!

DoMeDon · 15/12/2011 12:13

This could be your labour starting- if that gives you some hope Smile. I had 2 nights of contractions (midnight till 8am) then went into labour on the third day. Have you had a sweep yet? When mw did mine they found the 2 nights of 'alleged' BH had in fact left me 2cm dilated.

Grohlsgirl · 15/12/2011 13:33

I've got the same thing with the BH, particularly at night. Gets very confusing because they can be painful, but not to the level i'm expecting "real" contractions to get to! Had em most of this morning too even though i'm just laid in bed, not bothered timing them yet though...
