Yesterday I had to have gynae day surgery with a spinal block and all the triggers were there to send me into a bit of a state.

The flashbacks were hideous.

Anyway, i had thought i was over it but maybe i'm not.

WTF?

EMDR and EFT are very good for post-traumatic distress.

They work pretty quickly

i'm feeling fine now.
i just need to be aware of potential triggers in the future.

I'm really saddened when I hear of women still suffering weeks, months and years after an awful birth.

One of the few effective therapeutic approaches to relieve PTSD and traumatic memories, is The Rewind Technique, part of a hypnotherapeutic process. (Recognised by NICE as effective). I have been using this technique successfully with clients since 2003.

I have worked with so many women (often encouraged by their obstetricians) who have suffered, following miscarriage or an awful birth, that I've set up a website to offer my services more widely and promote effective therapy: www.birthtraumalondon.co.uk.

(As some of you may already have found, counselling can do more harm than good for PTSD sufferers - often re-traumatising).

Please get in touch if you think I can help. If you're not London or SE based, I can point you in the direction of an effective, experienced hypnotherapist in your area.

PTSD - flashbacks and all other symptoms CAN be released.
