Just wondering if anyone has had a private room immediately after c section?

I have been refused both times, and likely to have 3rd section in April. Really keen to have some rest in hospital on night 1. Last time discharged myself 24hours post birth as so distressed at noise levels.

That sounds just lovely to have your first night together. You definitely weren't in Derby were you!

We were in London - at a very busy hospital, so I think it was just amazing luck that we got a room. There happened to be one empty at the time, which is rare.

It was lovely, though, and I'm so glad that we asked.

I think it is important to remember that after you have a baby you have lots of adrenaline going around your system. Very few mothers sleep for any length of time during the first 24 hours. It is natures way of keeping us alert for our babies.

IME siderooms are kept for mothers who have D&V, MRSA or have poorly infants in SCBU. Even women who have amenity beds are sometimes moved out of them if someone with a greater need comes along. Our wards run at full capacity most of the time, with women waiting on labourward for a postnatal bed to become available.

The only way to ensure a single room is to book privately
