I suppose contractions use the same set of muscles as orgasms so I can see how it could happen but... ow!

I agree reallytired. I used hypnobirthing techniques and the only pain and panic was during transition when it felt like my pelvis was being ripped in two. But as soon as I pushed the pain just disappeared.

In the trance I was in I was sort of aware and not aware that DS was being pushed out, there was no crowning pain, no pain at all in fact.
