The midwife's just been (am 40+5) and for the first time ever the baby was slightly engaged (but only 4/5) and after the sweep she's written in my notes 'cervix soft, posterior, long and closed'. That's not good, is it?! :o

I got that both times with my two and it means not a lot is happening yet but who knows when it will change!

I had a failed sweep at 41 weeks (as in, could not even reach the cervix), niggly contractions less than a day later and a baby by the morning of 41+2. Means naff all!

That doesn't sound like a cervix that is ready to dilate. Have some sex; semen is good for softening your cervix!
