Pain in my entrance, but I had a CS (possibly TMI!)...

Really confused about this one. I had my CS nearly 5 weeks ago but pretty much since I had it I've had pain in the entrance to my vagina. I can only think this is related to the birth or aftermath. I had a catheter but don't really know how that works (couldn't see what was going on!), could it be something as a result of that? It feels like it's over to one side.

I'm breastfeeding and don't seem to go to the loo very much even though I drink a lot (is this normal?), and when I do go lately it kind of stings a bit. We tried to 'commence relations' last week but he didn't get very far as it was too painful for me. I'm also pretty dry but I gather this is down to the BFing so I'm not too worried about that.

I just really wondered if this is all normal or if I should get to the doctors or something?

The fact you had a catheter and it stings when you go to the loo means it could be a urinary infection - I think it would probably cause pain during sex even though it's not your vagina where the pain is coming from. Get to the dr. definitely, you may need antibiotics. They will prob want a urine sample so take one with you.

Hiya, I had that after both c sec. I came to my own conclusion that it's hormonal, but I don't know exactly why it happened. It was sore, and felt different. It also was uncomfortable when going to the loo. It is possible that it is an infection but it wasn't that for me. It got better after a couple of months.

Lack of oestrogen causes both vaginal dryness and discomfort, and frequent weeing and urethra discomfort - you can get oestrogen replacement cream if it persists. Worth getting a wee sample checked for infection, and discussing it with the doc.

I had this. I have had 2 vaginal births and 1 cs. I had much more pain and discomfort during sex after the cs. No idea why!

Could it be to do with your body tightening up after the birth - it does the same thing even after a caesarian, or that was what I was told in the antenatal classes I went to, when I mentioned that I knew of someone who felt overtight and found sex painful for some time even though she'd had a caesarian. The reassurance was that things right themselves in time (don't know how much time, sorry.)
