Help to avoid induction

I am currently just over my due date and the midwife has booked me in with the registar next week. I would like to avoid being induced. What complementary therapies work and can anyone recommend a homeopathy in the London Borough Redbridge?

hi tabsmum,

if you can find a reflexologist specially trained in maternity, try that.

i am one and have had success... but do remember, if baby isnt ready to come yet... not a lot will budge him.

best of luck

rosie

Sorry nobody is replying to this, Tabsmum; hopefully I'll shove it near the top of Active Conversations, again. I know that acupuncture, pineapples, sex (hormones in the semen) are all said to help get baby to appear. This link says to try Caulophyllum 30c or Secale 30c tablets to start labour.

I know it's hard to resist the pressure.... but just remember "they" can't force you to be induced; there's a lot of argument that the studies about letting a baby go past 42 weeks is bad, those studies have various kinds of flaws in them. You can stand your ground & resist, if you want to.

I've heard lots of good things about reflexology, but didn't try it myself. I did use Caullophyllum, and that definitely had a result, but I would be v careful with this as it gave me a v speedy labour all a bit too fast and baby got stuck and ended with c-section. Subsequently I did research which said Caul. should only be used if you really fit the type, so check on a homeopathic website before you try it! Otherwise, I would say long walks and raspberry tea are also worth a go.

Tabsmum, you don't have to go to the appointment if you don't want to. I won't even be considering induction until I am 42 weeks and even then I will opt for monitoring so long as myself and the baby are well.

Due dates are such dosgy things anyway, your baby will come when its ready.

Agree with others.... you do NOT have to agree to have an induction - ever. Before using Caullophyllum you shoud try Arnica 200 for several days (not easy to get in that potency) but www.helios.co.uk sells it mail order.
Reflexologyu and accupuncture both work too.
All 3 are good if you are about to go into labour.
