Did your waters break in a big woosh or bit at a time?

This morning I think my waters broke- but only a bit. I had a few good trickles of fluid that wasn't pee and I've been having period type cramping on and off since Friday. But since this morning nothing else, is that normal? I'm guessing there must be more fluid in there but when will that come out?

mine didn't go at all with number 2 -she was born with my waters intact which apparently means that she will never drown if you believe the old wives tale

born VERY quickly in the doorway of the delivery room so the midwife didn't get the opportunity to break them lol

Tiny trickle for me! (1st baby) accompanied by light cramps= check at hospital ( due to quick labours in family) = DD born 4 hours after said trickle ! :D

Pop!

Whoosh!

Me: I think my waters just broke?

I have no idea why it was a shock as I was clearly in labour already!

My waters broke early with both my two. It felt like I was peeing (I was in bed at the time, and it was two weeks early, so not expected). With ds as I had meconium staining (which was pretty obvious) I had to go into hospital that day and I ended up with a c-section. With dd we waited three days in the hope that labour would start. I think three days is the NICE recommendation for infection reasons, but we did get scanned a few times to make sure that there was enough liquid for dd. I wore ds's cloth nappies in the interim!

The first two I had a few leaks before the event and the rest went fairly quietly during the birth. This last one (had third daughter this week) went WHOOOOSH, like exploding the biggest water balloon you ever saw.
