Acupuncture and induction of Labour.?

Just wondering if anyone has had used Acupuncture to induce labour?. I am just researching all the options as I am hoping to have a VBAC in May. Previous ceaserean was due to failure to progress after induction at 42 weeks. I have heard acupuncture is quite successful for induction. Any stories appreciated.

I've heard acupuncture is very good. However nipple stimulation worked for me gentley rolling each nipple in your/dp fingers for 8 minutes each for an hour - I know it sounds funny - but was in well established labour when I got to the hospital!

I had a c-section first time - due to failure to progress - hoped for vbac for second but at 9.5cm dilated had to have another section as they feared for my previous scar (although I have to say to looked and felt fine to me!) Best of luck in May xxxx

had accupuncture to turn a breech baby, successfully, but at that appointment the accupuncturist mentioned accupuncture didnt always work for starting off labour so not to come ask him for it........so I dont know. I hear reflexology is VERY good however.......everythings worth a shot!

mmm it was my Acupuncturist that told me it was good for induction. Acupuncture and reflexology works on the same principles doesnt it?

I LOVE acupuncture!
Had never had it before my pregnancy, but my midwife used Moxa (acupuncture but with heat instead of needles) to turn my DD from breech position.
Then when labour started, my waters broke, but my contractions were very weak, so the midwife did acupuncture on my legs. She said I was 1cm dilated and wouldn't be giving birth until the next evening, but 3 hours later I was ready to push!
(I should point out that I had a home birth in Germany, but if you can find someone to do acupuncture on you, I would say DO IT!)

I tried it at 42 weeks when I was already 1cm dilated but it didn't work for me. Had 2 sessions but ended up being induced.
