hi, i had my dd in the homerton (1st baby) and it was horrible, most people that actually cared for me were lovely, but it was just that there wasnt enough of them! i was induced due to high bp, but to induce me they needed to take some bloods 1st, after waiting for 6 hours i begged 1 of the midwifes for the needle and bottles and took my own blood ( i am a phlebotomist, so this isnt as bad as it sounds!!) when i was finally induced, my partner and mum were sent home, as they were told i could be in labour for 2 days, a few hours later i was in lots of pain, and being sick, i wasnt given a bowl, and was left in a sick covered nightie, i lost my temper in the end and used my mobile to ring my mum to come back, i was finally given some pain relief and just left on the assessment unit, nobody checked on me, i then ended up locked in a toilet, pushing, when they finally got me out, dd was almost out, so no time to move me to delivery room, tore very badly, maybe due to having had no help with breathing/pushing, after i had surgery to repair the tears, i was left to get on with looking after dd, even though they knew i was still numb from the waist down as i had a spinal block for the surgery, i also had a catheter and a drip, so it was really hard even to lift dd, eventually i walked out in disgust with no antibiotics or pain relief, after i was told to go and get my own bottles for dd.
obviously i know the most important thing is that dd was fine, but i honestly would never go there again, it was a horrible experience.
