What did you wear during labour? I have crossed the Rubicon of Things To Obsess About.

Last time I think I was just wearing a long skirt, mostly, until the last bit where I was...not wearing a long skirt. This time it is a home birth and for some reason I am consumed with anxiety that I have Nothing Suitable To Wear.

I know I'm an idiot, but let's assume I do not want to wander around in the nuddy, what does one wear?

Yes achtung - my lovely DH put it together about 24 hours after the birth. Thank you!

I too bought one of those wrap dresses which would have been perfect, if extravagant, but I never got to wear it! Packed it in my bag but by the time I finally got into the delivery room I was 7cm dilated and a bit distracted by the thought of gas&air!

So I gave birth in a perfectly nice top which then got covered in blood and had to be thrown away. And it was high-necked and useless for skin-to-skin. Still a bit Sad my choice of clothing limited my chance for that initial skin-to-skin - was whisked off to theatre once placenta was delivered (PPH). I just never thought I wouldn't have the chance to get changed once I got to hospital!

Will do better next time (next time - hah! Grin )

Big T shirt and knickers for early labour. Then bra and knickers for established labour 'til I got in the pool, then no knickers, just a bra. Then I got out of the pool, paraded through the house in just a bra, and had the baby on the floor Hmm

Boobz that video is gorgeous and you look amazing! (Connie is top of my list if DC2 is a girl, DH will not veto it )

Constance / Connie is a lovely name, but obviously I'm biased! Goes well with my other DD's old lady name: Penelope!

I think I looked a lot better whilst labouring in the pool than I did walking the dog the morning after!
