Anyone been sensitive first birth and taken months to heal but sorted it next time

I was apparently sensitive to stitches etc necessary after first birth. To cut a long story short took seven months to heal up, had lots of things go wrong in underneath area, had to take several sets of antibiotics and lot of painkillers. All while bfing - not great.

Just going to see consultant this week in anticipation of imminent next birth. Meeting to try to see if I can be treated in way that doesnt make me so unwell etc (by the way no negligence at all involved - the hospital did a great job on the birth fantastic experience - I just for some reason reacted badly.) I already asked for old fashioned stitches that dont dissolve this time to see if I can tolerate them better -apparently I can have them outide but not inside.

Just would be interested if anyone else was very sensitive first time round but sorted it better second. ANy ideas welcome

DOnt think will get away without stitches as baby big and back to back.

i struggled with stitches first time, but had only a 1st degree tear 2nd time and resisted stitches, healed within a week or so. much better than first time. no painful sex, unlike after first time. that seemed to go on for months.

maybe your baby will swivel in labour, they often do i think and won't be back to back. hope so! good luck.

I had a forceps delivery and episiotomy with ds1 and nasty 2nd degree tear with ds2 (badly mismanaged delivery) but with dd (who was a difficult face presentation) despite me begging for an episiotomy and fearing the worst for my lumpy scar tissue, I only had a tiny tear and no stitches! The contrast with the others was amazing. Trust your midwife when to push and when not to (especially if like me, you lose the urge). I'm sure you'll be fine this time Mumfun!
