NO WAY! This must be a body thing!

So was up feeding Roisin most of the night. She wants to co-sleep, preferably snuggled up to a bare boob.

I've had about 5 hours of broken sleep and am MEGA sore w/afterbirth pains, my abdominal muscles being too far apart, a graze and a pinched nerve in my left groin.

DD1 has a terrible cough and was up half the night w/that.

And all I can think of is how I'd love a whole dozen of these!

That is SO messed up!

I do NOT do pregnancy well. No way.

This must be some kind of hormonal thing.

When does it pass?

I am obviously not the maternal type! I spent the first few days after the birth in shock that anyone would do this more than once, and thought that any advice about contraception was having a larf.

morningpaper · 12/12/2005 09:04

In about 18 years

morningpaper · 12/12/2005 09:05

Took me about 4 weeks to recover from the physical and mental shock of my second - was much worse than my first, oddly. Perhaps the extra three years took their toll!

ladymuck · 12/12/2005 09:06

I think that the hormonal high wears off in the next 24-48 hours I'm afraid...

Congratulations btw!

expatinscotland · 12/12/2005 09:07

Yay! Having 3 would be suicide for us financially. NO WAY we should have another.

No matter how unbelievably cute they are.

Oh I see you want MORE babies.

Ah well that is just plain crazy.

Actually I do remember jabbering on about "The next time I will ..." for the first day or two.

By day 4 I was a blubbering wreck. I think I weighed myself.

expatinscotland · 12/12/2005 09:11

I still have a bit of a bump, but I didn't gain any other weight besides bump.

This has got to be a fluke!

What about looking at your bits in a mirror?

That should put you off.

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 12/12/2005 09:25

Ewwwww hahahaha

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 12/12/2005 21:41

Just had to check the birth announcement section. Woohoo! Congrats Expat. What a great birth story. However, wait till your hormones come crashing down. See how the prospect of doing it again feels before you grab DH for some BDing!!

MerlinsBeard · 12/12/2005 21:49

when u have been awake for the last 2 weeks with no sleep in the day coz ur eldest is up and no sleep at night coz ur littlest is up, when ur house looks like a dust bomb exploded and there are more dirty dishes than clean because u r so tired u can;'t even lift ur arms.

Oh and did i meantion the fact that ur youngest is permanently attached!

(can u tell i settled into being the mum of 2 well ....NOT)

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 13/12/2005 12:01

Newborn got to be better than this.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2005 12:10

hahah don't listen to them, it's not so bad!

Mind you I have been laying into our Christmas stash of Sherry at 5pm every night after becoming Mum Of 2. I find it takes the edge off.

SHERRY ffs. Tut.

colditz · 13/12/2005 19:36

Congrats expat, didn't realise you had podded!

Mum2OneAndBump · 13/12/2005 19:42

Kitty - I could have written your post but i am 5 weeks away & trying to look after a 3.3 yr old with the flu, i just want this baby out i have TOTALLY had enough of it all.

morningpaper · 13/12/2005 19:43

They are better out!

Being pregnant SUCKS!

MIstletAOU · 13/12/2005 19:53

Expat, when ds was 10 days old dh and I discussed plans for our fourth.....

We still haven't changed our minds either! And he is nearly 5 months old now!

You are deffo on a post-birth high though. You'll probably take it all back in a month or so

GemgleBells · 13/12/2005 19:55

Agree being pregnant sucks but I still wouldn't mind anouther one. Admitted I'd like anouther one 3 hours after Dd was born - she's 11 weeks now.

Lucky Dh is alot more sensible than me.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2005 23:14

oh god. it's 11.13. dd1 has cough and threw up everywhere. had to change out e/thing and bath her.

now she doesn't want to go to bed.

time to get dd2 back on boob. again.

i've got awful piles. really bad

kiskidee · 14/12/2005 03:10

here's hoping you are sleeping at the mo expat if you aren't already, take 2 500g paracetamols every 6 hrs for your aches and pains. i did for the 1st 2 weeks. safe with bf. don't think i could have coped otherwise.

expatinscotland · 14/12/2005 10:10

she wanted to stay on the boob ALL NIGHT. and i mean, ALL NIGHT. finally DH took her for a drive at 4AM and she slept till 7. she fed another hour. she's stirring again.

i took 2 paracetemols+2 ibuprofens. they gave this to me in hospital and knew i was bfing.

i feel like utter crap and DH is at the dentist so i can't nap as DD1 is up and about. she's REALLY off her food w/new sister and cough and she's getting so thin i'm getting really worried.

OP posts:
morningpaper · 14/12/2005 10:49

Give dd1 some expressed breastmilk on her cereal - extra antibodies. Or make hot choc.

For piles -are you sure it's not anal tearing (fissures?) - from the inside out, tiny tears which happen to 11% of women during childbirth (including me!). Agony. Try using vaseline around the outside and slightly inside before you have a bowel movement. Keep area CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN by showering after every bowel movement.

xx

morningpaper · 14/12/2005 10:49

I am just making hot choc with breastmilk for my poorly 3 year old.

Shove loads of sugar in for energy. Melt some choc buttons in with it for extra tastiness.

SnowmAngeliz · 14/12/2005 10:50

expat, i wanted another one immediately too sorry to say the tiredness will kick in soon.
I still want another though, i might try after Christmas.
