Has anybody had 4 c sections?

Hi, I'm considering dc4 but as I have had 3 c sections I am scared of a fourth. Any advice greatly appreciated

I've only had two but I know someone who has had 5 (in 10 years). She recovered very quickly after her 5th. I guess only a specialist could really give you general information on risks etc.

I had my 4th c-section in November and i thought it went really well.
I did lose a bit of blood and needed 1 unit of blood but to be honest i felt great afterwards. The c-section itself was quicker than my 3rd and less uncomfortable.
The only downside for me was that the surgeon stapled me instead of stitches. The staples were uncomfortable when the midwife tried to remove them & i had to go back to hospital to the day assessment unit to get a doctor to remove 1 staple that had turned itself around & was stuck.
Other than that i thought it was my best c-section.

Good luck, i heard of lots of people who've had 4+ c-sections.

I had my fourth in January.
It was my easiest pregnancy, easiest cs (not that I did much!) and easiest recovery (and easiest baby, which was a bit of a bonus)
I was terrified of having a cs towards the end, but only because so many well meaning people told me how dangerous 4th cs were.

The midwives were all happy and supportive (but did tell me 5 would be much more risky due to scar tissue)

The cs itself took longer - the surgeon (they made sure i had a consultant operating, because it was a trickier op) took his time going
in, so it was a good 20-30 minutes before ds was out (as opposed to 5-10 with the others)

I had my fourth 8 weeks ago - it was incredibly straight forward (I delivered at 37 weeks for an unrelated issue normally my consultant would schedule a 4th section in the 38th week).

Thank you for your positive replies. Yes people do put the fear of God into you and think I'm mad for even considering. Almost to the point of questioning whether I was being selfish in potentially being lost on op table!
Did any of your dc have problems with breathing afterwards. Dc3 was in scbu overnight. Scared us to bits but thankfully all well. Think I pee'd scbu staff off with how often he wanted to feed and it involved someone wheeling me over but it paid off and I managed to bf for 9 months

At what point would you have your c-section?

My first was a proper emergency as i was hemorrhaging & at 37+5 my daughter was ok and didn't need scbu.

My next 3 babies were all born at 33+4, 33+4 & 34wks & all needed to go to scbu for breathing problems. Their stay ranged from 3 days - 5 days.
This was due to them being born early. I'm not allowed to go past 34wks due to my history.

I think i am too late to reply on this but i would investigate the risks for you personally with a Consultant very carefully..they will be able to review the notes from your previous surgery as regards scar tissue etc

It makes me very uncomfortable to just read people telling you about their easy experiences- it is naive- there are risks involved and your Doctor can explain them in your case- you can then deicide what to do

It would be irresponsible not to mention this to you- i did not discuss the risks with a Doctor and ended up with a life and death placenta acreta situation, hysterectomy etc- very rare but i did not fully research the risks
