Did you feel the incision during your c-section?

I am 30 weeks and will be having a c section. I have been told that even though I won't feel pain, you do feel the pressure of the scalpel going across your belly when the Doctor makes the incision. Please tell me if this was your case, as I want to be mentally prepared for that if that is the case. Please also let me didn't feel that at all, as that is also comforting to know! (the thought of feeling that sensation of the scalpel going across me, even without pain, makes me rather nervous and uncomfortable)

I only felt pressure when they were wriggling my dc's out, I wasn't aware when they were cutting me.

Ooh fantastic, didn't see that. :)

I did feel something as my spinal block wasn't completely working - but even so it wasn't like feeling someone cutting you open, it was uncomfortable but not unmanageable and as others said quite vague in terms of exactly what they were doing. (They asked me whether it was OK to go ahead, if I had been in too much pain they would have gone for GA instead but it was not that bad and I just wanted him out ASAP!).

I think the bit I found most unpleasant was the pulling-out bit, it didn't hurt exactly but it really was a bit strange and uncomfortable, DS was fairly big and in a funny position so the (tiny little lady) surgeon had to really wrestle him out, DH said afterwards "she actually had her knee up on the bed pulling"! But then you know just after that you will meet your baby so that is a good distraction.

The other thing is nrvsmum2b is that a lot of people have a reaction to the very high dose of epidural. I threw up during the emcs, which embarrassed me but didn't bother the docs at all, then I couldn't stop shaking for about 3 hours afterwards - the shivers were so bad I couldn't hold DD Sad. Might have been because I was on it so long but it wasn't pleasant.
