2nd time round and having a mental block of what one REALLY needs! Top tips pls with 8 weeks to go. Guess spending more time with toddler and 'plannig' less for this labour. Planning is no use anyway! Think I still have pair of pajamas etc that should do for labour.

Cheers!

Food, food and more food, Hospital food is shite and they're not very forthcoming with it!

Its pretty much been said, but for you...
Pj's, loose comfy clothes, towel, toiletries, breast pads, sanitary pads, camera, snacks, magazine/book, money, tense machine & spare batteries (if you are having one).

For baby...
x3 vests, x3 outfits, nappies, cotton wool, wipes, hat, blanket, car seat.

Any labour aids you might want, for example...
Essential oils for either a massage or to smell, lucozade glucose/energy tablets if you dont feel like eating but want to keep your energy up. Evian water vapouriser, they are great for cooling you down if you feel hot or sick and can be refreshing to give you a little boost.

Good luck.x

Pants? I always keep forgetting pants! Socks/slippers? Hairbrush?

Definitely take a few bottles of water, I was ever so thirsty in my first labour. G&A gives you a hell of a dry mouth.

Flannels! They were essential for cooling me down in labour, and mopping my brow when i was cooped up on the sauna like postnatal ward for 3 days afterwards.

Pack a couple of empty carrier bags too - if you end up staying in, you can send your dirty washing home in them.

Mobile phone charger is useful too.
