I am 36+3, I'm a week behind what they thought apparently.
Second child, I've in slow stop, start labour for 6 days today! I am exhausted! I can't really sleep through the contractions but they aren't hard or fast enough.
I know being early it's best for baby to stay put but I have no idea how much longer I can function like this :(

I really don't know what to do. Anyone got any ideas?

Ugh sounds like a tough night. My DS was up at 4 for about an hour but went back down till 7:30 so not too bad overall. He's full of the joys of spring today thank god. Still a bit snotty but other than that a whole lot better than he was yesterday. We went to a baby group this morning and he had a great time and he's having a snooze at the moment.

It's a pain that you have to wait for that engineer, it puts everything on hold doesn't it? Did you end up going to the shops? You're some woman if you do go, I'm not pregnant at all and still the thought of going the shops gives me a headache. I'll have to brave the supermarket this afternoon as we're pretty much out of every single thing, including nappies. Sigh.

prolificwillybreeder · 28/06/2011 14:35

Glad your DS is feeling better :) mine is also having a snooze but I'll need to wake him as he's had 2 hours now. I know it's for the best but I always feel terrible waking him up.
Washing machine man was here 5 minutes! Control board has gone and we are getting a new one. hopefully ASAP! I'm drowning in washing, luckily MIL has taken some.
Haven't been out yet, I'm not feeling brave enough. We definitely will be on Thurs for baby group. Then my brother is coming over on Fri so I think coffee and cake in

prolificwillybreeder · 28/06/2011 14:39

No idea how I managed to send that!
But anyhow seeing my brother in a cute coffee shop near me so that will be nice. He and DS are mutually besotted with eachother :)

How was your supermarket shop? Hopefully a Tues afternoon won't be too busy. I hate going food shopping, it's traumatic!
Hope you and DS get through it!

WriterofDreams · 28/06/2011 17:54

Aww that's sweet about your brother. My sisters live in Ireland so they've only seen DS once, which is a shame :(

Shopping was grand, DS was in great form. He loves shopping thankfully, he makes it his business to catch the eye of any passing shopper to give them a smile. It's lovely but it also means I feel I have to look somewhat human (and less like a zombie) when we go shopping as we attract so much attention Grin

Dare I ask...anything stirring? (this question sent me into a few homicidal rages when I was overdue with DS).

prolificwillybreeder · 28/06/2011 19:09

Aw, ds is like that too. Very sweet but generally looking as haggard as I do in my current state the attention isn't always wanted!
Such a shame your sisters live so far away. We get my brother in stints according to university holidays and all the other holidays he seems to be able to afford Envy
I don't want to say yes incase it's nothing but this afternoon was feeling cranky again and I do have some back ache.
I'm worried it's the chair I'm sitting in rather than anything else.
Having a couple drops of clary sage in the bath tonight. See if it makes any difference. I don't have high hopes but I had some aromatherapy in my last labour and dilated quite quickly after being stuck for a few hours. Could of been the threat of an EMCS that DS decided he wanted to avoid!
I've got a tens machine now, my friend brought over earlier so when it does kick off, I've something to try. Didn't last time so will see how it goes.
Have a got lamb tonight, I want pizza!
Hope you have a good evening :)

prolificwillybreeder · 28/06/2011 19:10

Please read cranky as crampy cranky is normal!

OP posts:
prolificwillybreeder · 28/06/2011 21:14

Clary sage has done bugger all. Don't know why I even expected to tbh!
I'm in bed with a brew and a belgium bun rectify my sulking!

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 28/06/2011 22:56

Arggh, it must be so frustrating! I tried the tens machine when I was in labour and I found it somewhat useful at the start but only for an hour or so. That said, I went from 0-5cms in 2 hours so things ramped up fairly fast. I'd say it would be helpful if things were going a bit more slowly.

Hoping tomorrow brings something more definite. Sleep well :)

WriterofDreams · 29/06/2011 16:24

Where are you PWB??

prolificwillybreeder · 29/06/2011 17:02

Dont panic I'm still here.
Currently I'm wrestling a teething monster! Nothing will make my little man happy today! Have given every teething treatment known to man.

How's things your end?
Nothing happening this end at all. I seem to be completely immune to clary sage, it didn't even give me any BH's!
Glad the TENS worked for a bit, if anything I'll use it as a distraction :)
I'm so bored, went for a good long walk today and still nothing!

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 29/06/2011 17:43

Aww I was hoping I'd hear nothing for a day or so then you'd come back with a lovely birth announcement! I am tired (though not as tired as you I'm sure). DS only had two short naps today both times in the buggy going to and from my friend's house. DH is out this evening so I'm all on my lonesome with a very grumpy and tired boy who has no intention of sleeping. He'll go down fine when I put him to bed I think but I don't want to do that too early as he already wakes at sparrow's fart as it is!

Your poor DS, teething is rotten. My DS has been showing some signs but no teeth as yet. I'm dreading when he really gets going.

Are you inundated with fb messages and texts yet? My family weren't too bad, although that might have been because I lost the plot quite early and told them all to shut up or I'd sit on them Grin

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 07:36

Morning WOD! Sorry I haven't replied sooner.
How's DS doing?
Absolutely no news here. Did have backache and some BH's yesterday. Led to nothing.
DS is still a teething non sleeping monster! I would happily have his 2 hour nap!
Not sure he will want one at 10 though :(
You up to much today? My DP is out tonight and working tomorrow morning so I'm not going to get too much of a break.
I honestly don't know how much longer I can carry this baby swinging in my pelvis! It hurts, have SPD anyhow, not sure it carries any weight in terms of induction or anything.
I am quite hormonal, swaying between being absolutely fine about the lack of labour to verging on tears about it.

Thanks for reading, if you got this far!

WriterofDreams · 01/07/2011 08:01

What are you trying to do to me woman? I was so good yesterday, I was really tempted to post but I didn't as I thought, I don't know, something mad like if I left you alone baby would decide to pop out! No such luck eh. I had a very quiet day yesterday - DS slept loads for once so I had a couple of gorgeous hours to MN and watch shite on tv. Says a lot that that's the highlight of the week doesn't it??

I have an exciting day of housework ahead. I've been avoiding it all week and the place is a tip so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get down to it.

You poor thing having to contend with SPD! My pelvis was quite sore with DS (nothing close to SPD) and I found it so hard so I can imagine what you're going through! It really makes for a long day when you're on your own doesn't it? I can totally understand why you're so fed up. Is it today that you're meeting your brother?

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 09:32

Sorry! DS was a nightmare yesterday!
Ooh housework! I'm getting my brother to Hoover whilst he is here as I can't! By the time DP does it, it will be Sunday.
Oh those blissful couple of hours DS free and crap tv sounds fantastic!
Wish my DS would sleep so I can too! He came in with us at half 3 I was just too tired to keep trying to put him down.
Blooming teething, the ruin everything!
Hoping DS goes down well tonight I'm hoping for a nice bath whilst DP is out.
Ah well will have a little rest when my brother is here to entertain!

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 01/07/2011 15:58

Hope your day is going ok. My great housework plans didn't really pan out as DS was in foul form and very clingy. He's only just gone down for a nap so I'm snatching a few moments for a much needed cup of tea and some MN :) Of course the bloody cat has chosen just this moment to decide she wants to be let out. Arggh! Leave me alone!!!

I may actually make a dent in the filth at some point. It seems unlikely though.

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 17:33

Oh sorry DS isn't himself, it's so hard when they are like that. You just need a bit of peace. Hope you enjoyed your cuppa eventually after the cat needing attention as well.

Had lovely time with my brother, he brought lunch over then hoovered for me. I got to do my online food shop in peace but forgot to take the chicken out for tonight's dinner. So had to walk with my dodgy pelvis to town to get more. Now I realise we don't have cheese so DP is having to nip to the shop once he's off the train. Grr!
He's not going out now, bit disappointed actually quite fancied an early night with tv and MN.

What's a bit of dirt, I'm sure it's not even that bad!
Any plans for the wkend? I want to have a baby but it seems unlikely :(

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 01/07/2011 17:44

What on earth are you doing walking to town to get chicken?? Don't you know that when you're ridiculously pregnant all decorum goes out the window and any excuse to eat chippy, pizza, crisps or tubs of lard if that floats your boat is to be taken advantage of? I'm supposed to be cooking lasagne at this point in time, however I'm sticking to the theme of the day, which is "ah fark it all anyway." DH will have to scrape something off the bottom of the fridge or eat that bloody cat if he can catch her.

My plans for the weekend include getting any sleep I can possibly get (probably a very tiny amount) and performing at a choir concert tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to that actually, it'll be tiring but good fun. Besides that I'll really have to tidy the house some small bit as it's getting crusty.

I hope your DP won't be foolish enough to come home with just cheese. If he has anything less than three treats for you then I advise calling women's aid and kicking him square in the nuts.

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 18:07

Haha I like this! I do just want takeouts and chocolate unfortunately dp isn't awfully keen on takeout, so annoying.
He best bring back some chocolate or I'll be on the blower!
I definitely don't feel so special this pregnancy almost just expected to get on with it/people forget your pregnant anyhow.

Wow! hope your concert goes well, sounds exciting!
Mmm sleep! Hope you get as much as you can and avoid doing housework. I've booked a lie in for Sunday. DP is finding getting up with DS hard work and moans about it but frankly I don't care. I want Chinese and wine and chocolate ice cream then after a big sleep go in labour! Hmmph!

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 01/07/2011 18:23

If there's any time to throw your weight around (pun intended) it's now! Don't let the sisterhood down!

Seriously, I'm a bit Shock that your DP is complaining about getting up with DS, seeing as you're fit to pop and suffering with SPD. Does he expect you to do it?

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 19:42

Well... He bought me my favourite chocolate snack- reeces pieces, peanut butter filled smarties really.
He does get up with DS, we tend to share the night shift. But really I could do with a few nights of solid sleep. Not really that fair on him though, he is utterly useless when he is too sleep deprived not too mention a pain! He did say to me earlier that I looked like I was recovering from two black eyes! My bags must be bad so he will get up as much as he can. So annoying he is working tomorrow so I have to get up and do breakfast/ entertain 6 out 7 days this week!

I shouldn't moan I guess but heck I'm tired and need my baby out!
Thank you so much for staying with me and keeping sane this past week. It's really lovely of you :)

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 01/07/2011 20:20

No worries, it's very exciting waiting for a baby (if also terribly frustrating)!! Plus it's been fun chatting, especially seeing as DS has been a bit of a pain this week - it's helped to keep me sane :)

I really hope the weekend isn't too hard for you. What age is your DS by the way?

prolificwillybreeder · 01/07/2011 20:46

:) my DS is 1 next week!
Aw glad we are keeping eachother sane, the first lot of teething is horrible.
I hope the weekend isnt too bad either! Have a bit of back ache, hoping it's not just SPD though feels bit too low down.
Fingers crossed we both get some sleep!

OP posts:
WriterofDreams · 02/07/2011 10:14

Ooh so they might have the same birthday! Would kids love or hate that, I'm not sure Confused

Had a great sleep last night thankfully. Let me know if there's any movement!

WriterofDreams · 04/07/2011 07:24

Any news???

prolificwillybreeder · 04/07/2011 08:41

Afraid not :( some twinges, pains and back ache but nothing else.
Just trying to fill the days until my actual due date when the consultant will actually do something about getting this baby out!

How's everything your end?
