I'd say 3 days and it is Arnica 200 too...

Spod · 08/10/2003 22:17

3 days from now or three days before?

Don't think they sell that potency - check though
Otherwise you can easily mail order from Helios

Pupuce..hope you see this. Just looking at the Helios site for Arnica 200...what size pot would be best to order?

artyjoe · 17/01/2005 10:44

I'm having a c section on Wednesday so am cutting it fine but have only got Arnica 30C...it says to take two every two hours, six times a day.

Will these benefit me?
Will taking 12 a day (recommended dose) be safe for baby?

Hope I've not left it too late...

MrsBigD · 17/01/2005 11:11

artyjoe... that's what I did and baby was just fine

Deffo helped with the internal bruising, well at least I think so

Good luck!

You can take the whole bottle and it wont harm you or baby. ONly thing it would do is possibly interfere with the effectiveness of other homeopathic remedies you might be taking. I took arnica for a particularly nasty c-section as well as pulsatilla for my nerves during labour.
Best of luck.

Having taken a tumble at 6 months pregnant, down my long flight of stairs, I was sure my knee would never heal. It was twisted like a branch in a strong wind. When you are pregnant you really value your knees and I needed them. I knew nothing of homeopathic remedies but was told about them a week after it happened. After not being able to get out of bed, the arnica worked overnight and i was up on my feet. Arnica has fantastic, almost metaphysical qualities and I am never without it. When baby is up and walking make sure you have arnica on hand, in pill form and in cream form for those inevitable bruises and swellings when they fall. It works a treat!

eidsvold · 18/01/2005 02:26

I took it after my c-section .. did not take it before as I wasn't sure - first dose was when I got to my room after recovery.

Worked really well.... I was surprised how well I recovered compared to my first c-section.

teabelly · 18/01/2005 16:04

Possibly a silly question - but would arnica have any beneficial qualities for a 'normal birth'...with ds I didn't so much have stitches more like a tapestry!! and took ages for swelling to go down...19 weeks to number 2 and already starting to panic about the birth...

beachyhead · 18/01/2005 16:05

good for a normal birth too - anything that involves bruising.....

alwayssaythanku · 18/01/2005 16:29

Arnica is excellent for a "normal" birth, any birth in fact. Any thing that causes physical trauma, bruising or swelling, use Arnica. If you bump your head and have a bruise use Arnica cream which works real fast.

Go on and give it a try you will be amazed.

teabelly · 18/01/2005 16:29

Ooh great - going to keep that in mind then - thanks

pupuce · 19/01/2005 20:38

futurity- A small one is big enough!

Georgiesmum · 28/03/2006 12:50

I tried it after my dd birth I had a episotomy9sp) but it really stung me and mde me itch!

bundle · 28/03/2006 12:53

spod i would also suggest making sure that the conventioal painkillers you take should be used before you get any pain, I did this with my 2nd c/s and it was much more effective than "waiting" for the pain to start iykwim

zephyrcat · 01/04/2006 17:25

Where did you guys get arnica 200 from? I've just been to the health shop and could only find 30.... is that going to be enough for a c section?

BamboozlesLover · 18/06/2006 17:20

i heard pineapple helps with bruising too. anyone vouch for this?
