Have any of you gone private because you wanted a C-section?

Yes I know a C-section carries more risks, requires a longer recovery period, is not a way of avoiding pain, etc. Yet, on balance I'd still prefer one to a natural birth.

I gather the NHS doesn't allow C-sections unless there is a medical reason for one so, unless a medical reason presents itself over the next few months, I'm considering going private.

Has anyone else done this? Were you received positively and do you have any useful advice?

hi guys,
I would like to start by saying any one whom is pregnant please don?t worry as every birth is very different, I am a mother of four children - my eldest is 6 and my baby is no 8months all births where completely different.
I would like to say to Oopsie don?t feel afraid to ask for a c section ? my reason is very important one and would like you to hear my story.
I fell pregnant with my baby daughter and I was finding it hard being my fourth time round, I moved from Newcastle to Torfaen so I have no family around to help out and my partner mother had died yrs ago ? my gut feelings was saying to me some thing was not right and I called my mum ( which she is now retired in Bulgaria) I asked her to come over to help mind the children so when I went into labour we would not be worried about find someone to mind the children. I wanted a C Section due to my gut feelings things are going to go wrong. My consultant refused me to have a C Section. So the pregnancy went on until I was 10 days over due, I went into hospital to be started off.
Cut the long story short I give birth to my daughter on 16th October 2010 born healthy ? I however, was rushed in to theater as I had a massive bleed and was in theater for 4 hours in the end they had a full hysterectomy this was to save my life. I woke up 2 days later I had tubes and monitors every where and I was told what happened that I lost 12 liters of blood and ended up having the full hysterectomy I am still to this day not in any right state of mind.
I would spk to your consultant and ask him to guarantee things will not go wrong ? in my experience my body knew and I had the gut feelings but consultant would not act ? my experience was 1 out of 10k people it could happen to and I was say if you do have a C Section there are risks but some way up far more than my personal experience if I had a C Section I wouldn?t have had to have the full hysterectomy.
