HI I am 34 weeks pregnant and I suppose to give birth at the lewisham hospital. well, that is where I was referred to however nobody has really asked me about my choice or give me any choice. My midwife so far has been really unhelpful. She has not asked me much , also forgot to inform me about various things. All my information comes from books and internet and friends.
When I said I might have an infection she send me to a doctor for a swap test as she was too lazy to get her things from the next room. The same happened when i needed a letter for travel on 2 occasions. She send me to my GP and told me its not her job to do that. Now 5 months later I realized she doesn't even know my name. That makes me feel no very confident.
Nobody has told me either about birth center or the ward, or explained to me the form of pain relief , or any other things i need to know.
I am due to see another midwife next week and hoping she will be better!
Could someone give me their recent feedback on lewisham ?
my baby is due on 7th of July but theoretically anytime form mid june I suppose.
Any advice from anyone. ?
some friends suggested I move to Kings but I am not sure I would be able to at this stage, plus will it be better?
I am generally not a panic woman so I am just being positive and hoping for the best as I have been feeling well throughout all the pregnancy so far, but one never know what comes next and I really want good care for my baby and me.

hiya, i don't know anything about your local hospitals i'm afraid, although I have heard good things about King's from people.
it's never too late to change your hospital if you want to

You can also change your midwife if you're not happy with yours, or you can go to the GP and ask to be seen by them, although obviousl they may not have as much knowledge on certin things as a midwife would

I'd also recommend looking into ante-natal courses if you have time before baby is born, just to reassure you with things to do with the birth, pain relief, what to expect, breastfeeding... that kind of thing

I changed hospitals at about 35 weeks so you're definitely not too late to change.
