I am currently 32+3 with twins and I am enormous, have been diagnosed with Obstetric Cholestasis, so am scratching the skin off myself, I have been given Piriton which make no difference whatsoever.
Every evening without fail, sometimes during the day too (today), I have really strong tightenings, sometimes more painful than others, but never comes to anything, don't get me wrong I don't want them to arrive this early but wish the contractions would bugger off until the real thing!! Grin
My back aches, my face aches and my arse aches! Grin
DH and I run our own business so I am lucky enough to be finishing officially working this sunday (still doing bits from home, but won't have to come to the shops)
I am working today and it's raining so dead as a dodo so far.
I know I am very lucky, but just wanted to rant a bit, I'm sure I will be fine tomorrow!

I had contractions from 29 weeks with my twin boys and had them at 36 weeks so I know how you feel on that. Just do a countdown now until you finish work :)

Thanks, I am going to start marking it off the calendar!!
My poor DS is so bored of hearing about the babies, he changes the subject when anyone asks him, (he is 3 next month)
There are 9lb's worth of baby in there (same weight as DS at full term, so midwife said, 'your body thinks you are full term, so you are likely to get these pains until you give birth!' thanks! Hmm
Going to make myself a nice hot chocolate to cheer me up!

Being pregnant sucks!

Have full sympathy for you x

You poor thing, hope you feel a bit better when you finish work

My friend has just had obstetric cholestasis, not very nice at all. I'm sure you've had all the tips but she said getting a bit of fresh air and sunlight helped and also using cold compresses (she sat with wine ice packs on her wrists and ankles for periods of time)

Thankyou, yes ice seems to help, and strangely, even eating ice lollies does the trick, so I have stocked up on lollies and hidden them from DS
It was especially bad yesterday and I have brought up blood spots and bruises all over my bump and arms, I am trying to just itch through my clothes as it does less damage... but it just doesn't feel as good!!! Grin

one tip I was told (when I had a tattoo) was to slap your skin instead of scratching when it feels itchy, strangely it did seem to work!

WalterFlipschicks · 23/05/2011 12:02

Ooh, I am sat here slapping myself now! Thanks, I look like a loon, but hey, no customers around so I won't put anyone off!!
